Dubai: Saudi Arabia announced 781 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, raising the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 322,237.

Thirty people have died due to complications caused by the virus in the past 24 hours, taking the Kingdom’s death toll to 4,137.

The Kingdom reported 623 new recoveries, pushing the total number of recovered cases to 298,246, the Ministry of Health said during its daily press conference.

Active cases are now 19,845, including 1,428 critical. Jeddah reported the highest number of infections today with 62, followed by Mecca with 58, and Medina with 51. The rest of the cases were scattered in different cities and governorates across the Kingdom.

“Saudi Arabia is continuing to register new cases below 1,000 for more than a week, a good sign that the pandemic is under control and cases continue to drop further,” Health Ministry’s Spokesman Dr. Muhammad Al Abdel Ali said during the conference.

He noted that the Kingdom recorded its highest daily reported cases on June 19 when 4,301 people tested positive.
