Dubai: One person died and five others were injured in a fire that broke out at a house in the village of Raghadan in Al Baha Governorate, local media reported.

Three rescue and fire-fighting teams rushed to the site where paramedics performed a cardiac pulmonary resuscitation procedure for a 20-year-old man whose heart had stopped. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the King Fahad Hospital in Al Baha.

The five others, who sustained minor injuries due to smoke inhalation, were treated on the spot.

Imad Al Zahrani, the official spokesperson for the Saudi Red Crescent Authority in Al Baha, said: “We received a report of a fire at 2:59am on Monday where our teams were deployed to the site and managed to put out the blaze and rescue five people with smoke inhalation.”

“Unfortunately, the young man’s heart stopped and a CPR was performed on him but he died after arriving the hospital,” Al Zahrani added.
