Dubai: Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdulaziz underwent a successful surgery to remove his gall bladder at King Faisal Specialist Hospital, it was announced on Thursday.

SPA, the official Saudi Press Agency, reported that the laparoscopic surgery performed on him was a success and that he will remain in hospital for some time for recuperation.

According to the Royal Diwan, King Salman will spend some time at the hospital in accordance with the recovery plan recommended by his medial team.

King Salman extended his thanks and gratitude to the Saudi people for their sincere feelings and prayers.
