After Hajj success, kingdom speeds up digital pilgrimage services through Nusuk
Dubai: Saudi Arabia has issued more than 190,000 Umrah visas to international pilgrims since the start of the new Umrah season on June 10, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced
The surge in visa issuance reflects the kingdom’s ongoing efforts to streamline access to pilgrimage services through digital platforms, particularly the Nusuk app, which the ministry confirmed as the unified channel for booking and managing Umrah permits.
The issuance of permits began on June 11, just one day after the season officially opened.
The Nusuk platform is part of Saudi Arabia’s broader initiative under Vision 2030 to improve and modernise the pilgrim experience.
It allows users to obtain permits, schedule visits, and access a range of services designed to make the Umrah journey smoother and more accessible.
This early momentum in Umrah applications follows a successful Hajj season marked by enhanced logistics, upgraded infrastructure, and the efficient deployment of digital tools.
According to the ministry, the latest improvements have helped deliver higher levels of comfort, safety and satisfaction for pilgrims.
Officials say the early demand underscores both growing global interest and confidence in the Kingdom’s leadership in serving visitors to the Two Holy Mosques.
