Abu Dhabi: Saudi inspection teams of the municipality of Al Dawasir valley, a town in Najd, have dismantled a rudimentary factory for making fake tobacco run by a worker, municipal officials said.

Acting on a report by a citizen that a grocery shop assistant illegally sold tobacco to youngsters, inspectors nabbed the man, who led them to an illegal factory in a building next to the shop.

The municipality said it had taken legal measures against the offender, who was fined 50,000 riyals.

It called on citizens and residents to report any offence on the toll-free number 940 or through the municipality’s social media accounts.
