Dubai: A Saudi Court in the Red Sea port city of Yanbu has ordered an agency selling used cars to pay back 32,130 riyals to a Saudi customer for manipulating the odometer of the car he bought from them.

The Saudi man bought a second-hand car from Sharaiti Motors for 30,000 riyals, but it broke down shortly after he purchased it. The claimant filed a lawsuit before the Yanbu court asking it to order the agency to give him back the price he paid for the vehicle, and compensation for its technical maintenance.

The plaintiff provided the court with technical documents and bills from several workshops where he was told that the agency had tampered with the car’s odometer before selling it to him.
