Dubai: The Saudi Ministry of Commerce has defamed a branch of a company specialising in electrical appliances and household furniture in Dawadmi Governorate, for selling used home furniture (dining table and chairs) and claiming they are new.

The branch of the company was named and shamed after the issuance of a court ruling convicting the facility of violating the Anti-Commercial Fraud Law, through deceiving and misleading the consumer.

Accordingly, the facility was fined and obliged to return the adulterated items. It was also obliged to give back the value fully to the consumer, besides publishing the verdict in two newspapers at the facility’s expense.
