Dubai: Saudi Arabia is set to experience widespread heavy rainfall and severe weather conditions across several regions, with the General Directorate of Civil Defence urging the public to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions.

The forecast, which is expected to last until Friday, includes moderate to heavy rains, with potential flash floods, hail, and dust storms in some areas.

The Civil Defence has advised residents to stay in safe zones and avoid flood-prone areas, especially valleys, which are at risk of flooding. The directorate also emphasized the importance of following safety instructions, which have been communicated through various media and social platforms.

Regions including Mecca, Al Baha, Asir, and Jazan are anticipated to see moderate to heavy rainfall, while Najran will experience moderate rain and light rain is expected in the Medina region.

In Mecca, the areas of Taif, Maysan, Adham, and Al Ardiyat are forecasted to be hit with heavy rain, raising concerns over flash floods, hail, and dust storms. Meanwhile, Mecca city, Al Jumum, Al Kamil, and Bahra will receive light to moderate rainfall.

The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has also warned of thunderstorms, accompanied by hail and strong winds, impacting parts of the Eastern Province, Riyadh, Najran, Jazan, Asir, Al Baha, and Makkah on Monday. Additionally, fog is expected to form in certain areas of these regions.

Active surface winds will likely cause dust storms in parts of the Qassim and Madinah regions, as well as coastal areas of Tabuk. Residents have been urged to stay informed and take precautions to ensure their safety.
