Cairo: Saudi police had arrested five men on suspicion of stealing a mobile phone from a woman in a public place in Riyadh, a security official has said.

The suspects are five Saudi citizens and a Yemeni expatriate in their 20s and 30s of age, spokesman for the Riyadh region police, Major Khalid Al Karidis, added.

“Evidence has proven their involvement in perpetrating the incident, using a stolen car,” he said. Police found in their possession other stolen cellphones.

The stolen car was retrieved from the suspects who have been referred to public prosecution while kept in custody.
