Drivers of two trucks and escorts detained
Abu Dhabi: Saudi authorities have seized a 303kg haulof hashish hidden in two trucks as they were driven through Al Dayer, a mountainous province in Jazan, southwest Saudi Arabia, police said.
The drivers of the trucks and escorts were detained and are being referred to the relevant security agencies, said Colonel Ahmed Al Towayan, director of relations and media at the Interior Ministry’s Agency for Security Affairs.
The suspects will be moved to the Public Prosecution for further investigation and trial, police said.
Drug smuggling is an offence punishable by death in Saudi Arabia.
