Dubai: A Saudi medical team at Jeddah hospital removed 250 nails and pieces of glass from a mentally ill man’s stomach, local media reported.

The young man arrived at the hospital in a life-threatening condition, suffering from severe abdominal pain and bloating.

A scan revealed a huge quantity of foreign objects in the patient’s stomach. He was taken immediately into surgery where the metal nails and glass pieces were removed.

The patient is now in a stable condition but is receiving psychiatric treatment.
