Cairo: Saudi police have arrested 15 expatriates for breaching the country’s border security system, a security official said today.

The 15 - all Ethiopian nationals - had been arrested in the quarter of Al Mahdia in western Riyadh, the city’s assistant spokesman Major Khalid Al Karidis added.

“Legal procedures have been taken against them to refer them to the agency concerned,” he said without giving further details.

Also in Riyadh, field inspectors had exposed 21 workers for violating the kingdom’s labour and residency systems. The Riyadh labour office, affiliated with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, had handed the violators over to security agencies to take legal action.
