Saudi Al Qaida leader in Iraq referred to court

Riyadh: Iraqi authorities have referred a leading Al Qaida figure Abdullah Rafie Al Shamri, a Saudi citizen, to court on charges of involvement in murders and bombings in the Iraqi province of Nineveh.

Saudi newspaper ‘Al Watan' quoted on Tuesday Brigadier Nafie Al Ugaili, Commander of the Rapid Reaction Brigade, as saying, "the power of our brigade pursued Al Shamri for a week and managed to arrest him Saturday evening in a raid".
