Dubai: More than 1.5 million worshipers and Umrah performers have visited the Grand Mosque since the beginning of Ramadan until the 10th day, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques said it has managed the entry and exit of 1.5 million worshipers and Umrah performers at the Grand Mosque.

They were allowed entry only after precautionary measures were taken.

Eng. Osama Al Hujaili, director of the general department for crowds management at the Grand Mosque, emphasised that the Presidency had harnessed its operational capabilities to serve Umrah performers during Ramadan by allocating the Mataf courtyard for them and managing the entry and exit process, and creating paths for the elderly and people with disabilities.

He called on Umrah performers to adhere to the timing issued to them through Eatmarna app, wear a mask, and adhere to physical distance.
