Cairo: Saudi security agencies arrested a young man who had appeared in an online video clip shooting randomly from a machine gun, a police officer in the region of Mecca has said.

The suspect is a Saudi man in his 20s, spokesman for the Mecca region's police Brig Mohammad Al Ghamdi added in a press statement.

"He was arrested. Legal procedures have been taken to refer him to public prosecution," the official added .

In Riyadh, police arrested three other persons who had appeared in footage flaunting possession of firearms, according to media reports.

The three were identified and found out to be Saudi men in their 30s, spokesman for the Riyadh region Col. Chaker Al Tuwijiri said.
