Likely rainfall in Riyadh, Mecca, Medina, Al Qassim, and the Southwest
Cairo: Most parts of Saudi Arabia are expected to experience rainy weather this week, starting Sunday, according to the kingdom's meteorology office.
The Saudi National Centre for Meteorology (NCM) forecasts that most regions of the kingdom will be affected by moderate to heavy rain until Wednesday.
The rainfall will be accompanied by dust-laden winds, with the likelihood of hail showers and high waves along the coasts.
Rain is anticipated in the regions of Tabuk, the Northern Borders, Al Jawf, Medina, Mecca, Hail, Al Qassim, Riyadh, the Eastern Province, Al Baha, and Asir, according to the NCM.
Specifically, Tabuk in north-western Saudi Arabia and Medina in the west are forecast to witness rain on Sunday and Monday, while the north-central regions of Al Jawf and the Northern Borders will experience rain from Sunday evening to Tuesday.
The NCM also expects rainfall in the regions of Hail in the northwest and Al Qassim in the center on Monday and Tuesday. The rain will extend to the Riyadh region from Monday to Wednesday and will include the Eastern Province on Tuesday and Wednesday, and Mecca on Monday and Tuesday.
In its Saturday report, the NCM forecasted cold to very cold weather with a chance of frost formation in parts of Tabuk, Al Jawf, the Northern Borders, Hail, and Al Qassim, with the possibility of extending to the northern parts of Riyadh and the Eastern Province.
The NCM called on the public to follow its daily reports and heed safety instructions provided by the competent agencies.
