Riyadh: An official source has denied reports that the Ministry of Education allowed private schools for girls to register boys for the preliminary grade levels in the coming academic year

The Arabic Al Riyadh newspaper quoted the source which was described as close to the Deputy Minister of Education Noura Al Fayez as saying that the report published in this respect was false.

The source affirmed that the Ministry had never issued a circular allowing any kind of mixed education in Saudi schools, particularly in private schools.

However, the source affirmed that the Ministry of Education approved requests from some Saudi parents to enroll their sons or daughters in international schools where mixed education is allowed.

The Ministry of Education, until recently, was preventing Saudi citizens to take their children to international schools, whatever the circumstances were.

Saudi Arabia allows mixed education only in kindergarten and preschool levels in addition to the international schools which are normally run by foreign diplomatic missions.
