Manama: Saudi Arabia’s education minister has sacked a principal after students were seen tearing textbooks in front of an elementary school in Tabuk.

Ahmad Al Eisa made the decision after he received the report of an-hoc committee he set up to look into the behaviour of the students and the failure of the school officials to live up to their tasks.

The minister called for the formation of another committee to be chaired by the ministry undersecretary to study the phenomenon of tearing textbooks following exams.

Al Eisa said that he wanted full recommendations alongside the conclusion of the committee and gave its members two weeks to hand in the report.
