Popular K-Pop band Monsta X has been added to the MDL Beast Festival’s line-up in Riyadh this weekend. Both the six-member act and the festival confirmed the news on their respective social media accounts.

“We are happy to announce that Monsta X will be joining MDL Beast Festival alongside some of the biggest artists in the world,” the tweet read on the group’s official Twitter account.

According to the MDL Beast Festival’s website, Hyungwon, Kihyun, I.M, Minhyuk, Joohoney, Shownu will take the stage on Saturday from 10.45pm till 11.30pm at the festival’s largest stage, The Big Beast — which accommodates around 45,000 people. The sextet will share the stage with the likes of R3HAB, Afrojack, and Salvatore Ganacci. South Korean DJ and producer Peggy Gou is also scheduled to get the crowd pumping this Thursday at the Underground Beast 1 stage.

The band’s debut performance in the Kingdom comes after K-Pop sensation BTS held their ‘Love Yourself: Speak Yourself’ tour at the King Fahd International Stadium. However, it isn’t Monsta X’s first time in the Middle East. Starship Entertainment’s boy group performed at KCON 2016 Abu Dhabi, alongside other K-Pop acts like Ailee, Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon and Super Junior’s Kyuhyun.

Featuring more than 100 global DJs and Arab stars, the Middle East’s largest music and cultural festival, which is organised by the General Entertainment Authority, will kick off from December 19 until December 21 and is reportedly expected to host 200,000 concertgoers. Saudi Arabia has unquestionably the largest K-Pop following in the Middle East and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. The country saw K-Pop boy groups Super Junior and Stray Kids perform as part of the Jeddah Season in July.

Monsta X is one of the K-Pop acts on the forefront of pop domination. They’ve collaborated with top musicians such as Steve Aoki, Will.i.am and French Montana. The all-male group previously announced that their first upcoming English-language album, ‘All About Luv’, will drop on Valentine’s Day next year and will feature the vocals of former member Wonho, who left amid controversy. It will include previously released singles such as ‘Someone’s Someone’, ‘Middle of the Night’ and ‘Love U’.
