Dubai: Saudi Arabia on Thursday reported 1,482 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 294,519.

The country’s overall deaths have climbed to 3,303 as 34 more people died during the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health said during its daily press conference on latest coronavirus update.

“There has been a significant hike in the number of daily reported recoveries. The Kingdom today registered the highest number of daily reported recoveries as 3,124 people have made full recovery,” Dr. Mohammad Al Abdul Ali, the Health Ministry's spokesperson, said during the conference. This pushes the total number of recovered cases to 260, 393, bringing the recovery rate to 88 per cent.

There are 30,823 active cases, including 1,805 critical under intensive treatment,

More than 4 million COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the Kingdom since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, he added.
