Dubai: Saudi Arabia today confirmed the detection of 593 new COVID-19 cases, marking the Kingdom’s lowest daily reported infections in several months. This brings the Kingdom’s overall infection cases to 328,144.

The virus has claimed 40 more lives in the past 24 hours, taking the overall fatality tally in the Kingdom to 4,399, Health Ministry spokesperson Dr. Mohammad Al Abdul Ali said during a press conference.

Active cases have continued to fall drastically with 16,538 cases, including 1,180 critical.

Jeddah reported the highest daily detected cases on Thursday with 55 new infections, followed by Mecca with 50 cases, Medina with 40, Riyadh with 39 and Hofuf with 38. The remaining cases were detected in different cities and governorates across the Kingdom, Dr. Al Abdul Ali added.
