Dubai: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Education announced the return of face-to-face classes for fully vaccinated intermediate and secondary school students in the upcoming school year, local media reported.

Primary school and kindergarten pupils will return to their face-to-face classes once 70 per cent of the Kingdom’s population has been vaccinated with two COVID-19 doses, or on October 30, 2021, whichever comes first.

Over 27 million coronavirus vaccine doses have so far been administered in the Kingdom, while 8.34 million have been fully vaccinated, accounting for 24.3 per cent of the country’s total population.

Saudi Arabia’s Food and Drug Authority has so far approved the AstraZeneca, Pfizer-BioNTech, Johnson & Johnson, and Moderna vaccines.
