Dubai: Saudi Arabia reported 175 new coronavirus infections and four more deaths on Wednesday, the Ministry of Health announced.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 364,271 and the virus-related death toll to 6,304.

According to the ministry’s latest update, a further 156 recoveries were registered over the past 24 hours, taking the total number of people who have recovered across the Kingdom to 356,013, with the recovery rate rising to 97.73 per cent. The active cases have also dropped to 1,954 out of which 307 were critical cases.

Kuwait

Kuwait confirmed the detection of 539 new coronavirus cases, taking the total infections to 155,874. No new fatalities were reported in the last 24 hours, keeping the country’s death toll at 946, the Health Ministry said in its latest update.

Meanwhile, an additional 234 fresh recoveries were reported, taking total recoveries to 149,809. The active cases on Wednesday reached 5,119, out of which 48 cases are still under intensive care.

Bahrain

An additional 316 new cases have been reported in Bahrain, bringing the total confirmed cases in the Kingdom to 96,195.

One more fatality was reported in the last 24 hours, taking death tally to 356, the Ministry of Health said in its latest update. The new cases have been detected among 126 expatriate workers, 171 new cases are contacts of active cases, and 19 are travel related.

There were 275 fresh recoveries, pushing total recoveries to 92,920. The active cases have now touched 2,919, including 2,899 that are stable, while there are 20 critical cases still under intensive care.

Qatar

The Ministry of Public Health on Wednesday confirmed the detection of 201 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total infections in Qatar to 146,480.

No new fatalities were reported over the past 24 hours, keeping death toll at 246.

According to the ministry’s latest update, a further 156 patients have fully recovered, pushing the total number of people recovered from the virus across the country to 143,094.

Active cases have now touched 3,140, including 303 that are stable under treatment, while 28 are critical under intensive care.

Oman

The Ministry of Health reported 142 new coronavirus cases and zero deaths in the Sultanate over the past 24 hours.

The total cases in the country have now touched 131,086, including 1,508 deaths, according to the ministry’s latest update.

An additional 288 patients have fully recovered, pushing total recoveries to 123,415, with the recovery rate climbing to 94.1 per cent.

The ministry urged everyone to adhere to precautionary measures and social distancing protocols issued by the Supreme Committee tasked with tackling COVID-19.
