Dubai: Saudi Arabia today announced the detection of 621 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, bringing the kingdom’s overall infection cases to 327,551.

Thirty-one more people have died due to complications caused by the virus in the past 24 hours, raising the overall death toll to 4,369, Health Ministry spokesperson Dr. Mohammad Al Abdul Ali said.

A further 982 people have fully recovered, pushing the total number of recovered cases to 306,004, taking the recovery rate to 93.42 per cent, Dr. Al Abdul Ali said.

Active cases have dropped to 17,178, including 1,238 critical.

Mecca reported the highest daily detected cases with 88, followed by Jeddah with 58 cases and Riyadh 41. The rest of the cases were scattered in different cities and governorates across the Kingdom.

The ministry conducted 50,149 PCR tests across the Kingdom over the past 24 hours, Dr. Al Abdul Ali added.
