Dubai: Saudi authorities have shut down 23 wedding venues and 20 shops in Najran for flouting COVID-19 precautionary measures, local media said.

Meanwhile, 16 mosques have been closed because they are placed amid random labour accommodation.

The closure of the wedding halls, shops and mosques was ordered by Prince Jalawi Bin Abdul Aziz, Governor of Najran Province, during an emergency meeting held to discuss the latest coronavirus update in Najran Province in the southwest of Saudi Arabia.

Also, in Hail, north-western Saudi Arabia, several shops and commercial facilities in have been fined and shut down for breaching coronavirus-related health protocols.
