Abu Dhabi: A Saudi woman, who was shocked by small scorpion stings while she was sleeping in the middle of the night, said she looked on it in terror.

Munira Sulaiman narrated to “Hey Hala” TV show, “I was asleep at two o'clock at night, and suddenly I felt a slight pinch in my neck. My first thought was maybe its some kind of an allergy, but the second pinch was strong, so I immediately felt the place and discovered it was a scorpion spraying its venom into my neck."

“It was an indescribable feeling, thank God it was a small arthropod, and its bite did not cause severe symptoms,” she said.

Suleiman expressed her regret "for the leniency and negligence of shipping companies, and the lack of concern for sterilising orders, as the scorpion was hiding in one of the postal parcels that I received."

Suleiman urged everyone to be aware, and to open parcels carefully, and to inspect their contents, whatever they are.

It was not immediately known who sent her the venomous arthropod and what happened to it.

Police spokesman confirmed they were investigating the scorpion post, but added that officers believe it was delivered to Suleiman in a genuine mistake.
