Third arrested in Mecca for defamatory remarks against residents of another province

Cairo: Saudi police had arrested two citizens suspected of robbing a worker at a fuel station, a security official has said.
The duo in their 30s were arrested in Saudi Arabia’s north western region of H’ail for having attacked the worker and robbed him of money, the spokesman for the local police added. Legal procedures have been taken against the suspects and they have been referred to public prosecution.
Meanwhile, a Saudi man was arrested in the holy city of Mecca for making derogatory remarks against residents of an unspecified province, the Saudi Interior Ministry said.
The offender in his 30s was identified and apprehended after making the remarks on social media, the ministry added without further details.
