Dubai: Qatar on Wednesday announced 244 new coronavirus cases, taking the total number of people infected with COVID-19 to 117,557.

No new fatalities have been reported during the past 24 hours, keeping the country’s death tally at 194, according to the latest coronavirus update by the Ministry of Public Health.

The country’s total recoveries climbed to 114,558 after 240 COVID-19 infected patients fully recovered. Among the country’s overall infections 2,999 are active cases, including 433, which are critical while 63 are serious cases under intensive care.

The latest cases were detected after the ministry conducted 4,665 PCR tests during the last 24 hours, pushing the total number of people tested across the country to 604,112.
