Dubai: Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra (QPO), a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF), will blend the emotion of live symphonic music with the distinctive sounds of video gaming in a bespoke multimedia concert experience entitled ‘Video Games Live’.

Set to take place on March 4, the event aims to enhance cultural life in Qatar by promoting unique artistic events.

Featuring synchronised lighting, electronic percussion, and an exclusive visual showcase of the most popular video games from past to present, ‘Video Games Live’ will help introduce new audiences — families, video game enthusiasts and non-gamers — to the symphonic experience.

Eimear Noone, the Irish composer with involvement in World of Warcraft, Diablo, Metal Gear Solid, Starcraft 2, and Zelda, will conduct the performance. Tommy Tallarico, video game composer and creator of ‘Video Games Live’, will musically contribute to the evening’s programme.

The musical performance will be the first of its kind in Qatar.
