Manama: A forum highlighting ways to lead research efforts through a variety of projects, programmes and initiatives will be organised by the Qatar Foundation in Doha in December.
The annual research forum will look at ways to achieve higher standards in science and research when participants convene in the Qatari capital on December 12 and 13, organisers have said.
"A broad range of disciplines will be covered in the forum, with participation of experts in biomedicine, energy, environment, computing, arts, social sciences, humanities and Islamic studies," they said.
"Our mission is to develop the country's human capital through world-class education and proactive support for new research and scientific advancement," Dr Abdul Ali Haoudi, Qatar Foundation's Vice-President for Research, said.
"The Qatar National Vision 2030 serves as the inspiration behind our efforts, as we aim to position the State of Qatar as a leading knowledge economy and equip its population to produce new technologies that anticipate future needs," he said, quoted in Qatari daily The Peninsula on Saturday.
Prominent researchers from different university campuses and research centres, including the Qatar Science and Technology Park, are scheduled to participate in plenary sessions.
