Dubai: Qatar has confirmed 600 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of infections in the country to 100,945, according to the Ministry of Public Health.

One new death was reported, raising the death toll to 134 in the country. Additionally, 1,005 people have recovered fully, bringing the total number of recovered in Qatar to 94,903.

Qatar is now the the world’s 21st country in terms of infections surpassing China where the outbreak started, as the country exceeded 100,000 cases yesterday.

During the past 24 hours, seven people have been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), bringing the total number of people currently in intensive care units to 154.

Currently, the active cases stand at 5,908, meaning over 94 percent of the cases have recovered.

The ministry conducted 4,886 tests in the last 24 hours taking the total tests done so far to 390,997.
