Dubai: Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health has announced the detection of 498 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19), taking the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 103,128.

Meanwhile, 701 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries in Qatar to 98,934.

No new deaths were confirmed today, keeping the country’s death toll at 146.

According to the ministry, the latest cases were detected after conducting 4,331 tests in the last 24 hours, taking the total tests done so far to 409,199. There are 43 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours.

Eleven patients were admitted to intensive care due to health complications resulting from the coronavirus infection, bringing the total number of cases receiving medical care in intensive to 141.

“There has been an increase in cases among families. This is of great concern as this population group includes the highest percentage of the elderly and people with chronic conditions. Now, more than ever, we must be careful and protect the most vulnerable,” a statement from the ministry said.
