Dubai: Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health reported on Tuesday two more coronavirus deaths and 225 cases, bringing the total number of infections to 2057, Qatar News Agency reported.

The ministry announced that the death toll now is 6, while 19 infected people have fully recovered, taking the total number of recovered patients to 150. The first fatality was a 74-year-old expatriate resident who suffered from chronic diseases and a kidney failure. His health condition deteriorated on Sunday and was put in an intensive care unit where he died.

The second deceased was a 59-year-old expatriate resident who suffered chronic diseases that complicated his health condition and led to his death.

The newly diagnosed cases are linked to those who returned from coronavirus-hit countries and those who contracted the COVID-19 virus after they had been in contact with the previously infected people.

The new cases, which also include some expatriate workers, have been placed under total quarantine where they are receiving the necessary medical care.

The ministry urged the public to adhere to preventive measures and keep a safe distance from others to limit their chances of contracting the virus.
