Academy seeks advance payment for students' certificates

Parents surprised by advance payment demand by Qatar school

Last updated:

Doha: Al Jazeera Academy has surprised its students and parents by denying the students certificates. The academy has demanded a down payment for next year’s fees, according to Qatar’s daily Al Arab on Thursday.

Parents said they paid this year’s tuition fee as well as seat reservation fees for the next academic year, the daily reported.

Parents have urged the Supreme Council of Education to interfere in the issue as it goes against Qatar’s educational standards.

Earlier the academy sent a message to the parents informing them of a new financial policy.

“We would like to announce the importance of delivering three pay cheques as down payment for next year’s tuitions, before June 28, 2012,” the message from the academy said. “We urge you to complete the payment to complete the registration for your children for next year, and to ensure receiving their certificates.”
