Speeding car kills two pedestrians in Muscat
The driver of the speeding vehicle was trying to avoid a stray animal, but crashed into the pedestrians instead

Muscat: A speeding car killed two Asian pedestrians on Saturday in Mabelah suburb of Muscat, according to a Royal Oman Police (ROP) press release.
The pedestrians were walking on the sidewalk when a car crashed into them.
"The vehicle involved in the fatal accident was travelling from Muscat to Birka when an animal strayed on to the road and in trying to save the animal the driver lost control, hitting the two," the police spokesman said.
Meanwhile, 14 people died and 238 were injured in 157 road accidents across Oman last week.
