Muscat: Royal Oman Police (ROP) has issued a warning in the general interest of public in Oman about a new trap. Scammers are luring people and prompting them to invest their money, with a promise of making profit while those who have put the money in have not heard of profit or their money. The modus operandi involves the imposters posing as promoters of investment schemes, who promise high monthly returns for money invested, apart from gifts for referrals. Further investigations by the ROP revealed there were no investment schemes, nor any monthly high returns.
