Muscat: Sultan Qaboos Bin Saeed on Tuesday received Gen. Sir David Richards, Chief of the British Defence Staff, at Bait Al Baraka.
During the meeting they discussed aspects of bilateral cooperation between the Sultanate and the United Kingdom in various fields that serve common interests of the peoples of Oman and the British countries.
The meeting was attended by Lt.Gen Ahmed Bin Harith Al Nabhani, Chief of Staff of the Sultan's Armed Forces (SAF) and British ambassador to Oman, James Bowden.
The visiting Chief of British Defence Staff also called on General Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Nuamani, Minister of Royal Office.
During the meeting, the Royal Office Minister welcomed the British official who expressed his delight for this visit which comes within the framework of the keenness attached by the governments of the two countries to enhance the existing cooperation between the Sultanate and Britain.
The meeting also reviewed march of the good relations binding the two sides in various fields and promoting them to serve the common interests of the two friendly countries, besides touching on a number of matters of common concern.
The meeting was attended by Lt.Gen Al Nabhani, and the visiting British delegation.
The Chief of Staff of the Sultan's Armed Forces also received in his office at Mu'askar Al Murtafa'ah Gen. Sir Richards, who is currently visiting the Sultanate.
