Muscat: A recent picture of Oman’s first lady, Sayyida Ahad bint Abdullah bin Hamad Al Busaidiyah, conversing with an elderly lady during her visit to Nizwa has caught people’s attention. The woman’s son, Mohammed Al Sulaymani, explained that the meeting took place as the first lady concluded her visit and was about to get into the vehicle. As woman’s home was close to the area of visit, she extended an invitation out to the first lady to come to her house nearby.

The son said the conversation was like that between a mother and daughter and added that the first lady responded to his mother by saying that she would surely do so in her next visit as it was not possible just then.

Mohammed denied the news that had circulated in the social media that his mother had asked for help for her eye treatment. He said that when his mother was asked about her impaired vision by the first lady, she responded by saying that she tried treatment in various places but without success as her impairment had progressed during her childhood and youth. He said that his mother nor his family thought it was appropriate to ask for any help for this, adding that had they asked, it wouldn’t have been refused.
