Muscat: With 63 days before the US general elections, US citizens in Oman can vote absentee, as announced through a Tweet recently by the US Embassy in Oman. The Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA) extends federal absentee voting rights to Service members, their eligible family members, and overseas citizens and covers US citizens who are 18 or older.
The Tweet says, “If you are a US citizen living overseas, you can vote absentee in the November 3 General Election by following two easy steps. Request your ballot at http://FVAP.gov and stay tuned for information on how you can submit your ballot from Oman.”

The FVAP link directs the user to a FPCA (Federal Post Card Application) link, which takes the prospective American overseas voters to absentee ballot through five easy steps of fill, review, print, sign and send.
UOCAVA citizens can use the FPCA to register to vote and request an absentee ballot simultaneously. They can also use the FPCA to update their contact information. Most states and territories require the citizens to register to vote and for which they can fill out an FPCA to register and request an absentee ballot at the same time.
