Cairo: Oman Thursday recorded 427 further cases of the novel coronavirus, bringing the country’s total infections to 80,713, the Omani news agency ONA reported.

The newly diagnosed cases include 217 Omanis and 210 foreign residents, the Health Ministry said without disclosing nationalities of the foreign patients.

The ministry also announced four new deaths from COVID-19, taking Oman’s total such fatalities to 492.

The country’s overall recoveries from the disease have reached 70,910, the ministry added in an update.

Oman plans to lift a two-week lockdown between its governorates and reduce hours of a night time health curfew as of next Saturday.

A Health Ministry report disclosed Thursday that epidemiological data indicate signs of a drop in overall infection cases in the sultanate.
