Citizens and expatriates wishing to do the testing have to make advance reservations and pay a fee of OMR 25 each via the App Tarassud Plus that gives the applicant access to the test result in 24 hours, the report said.

The service will be launched on October 1. The date marks the resumption of international flights in Oman amid strict health measures against the spread of the virus.

Domestic flights between the capital Muscat and the city of Salalah will also resume on October 1.

All passengers arriving in Oman will undergo coronavirus-detecting tests.
