Muscat: Sultan Qaboos Bin Saeed on Friday pardoned 177 prisoners as part of Oman’s 42nd National Day, which falls on Sunday.
The royal pardon included 144 Omani citizens and 33 expatriates of different nationalities. The social conditions of the inmates were taken into consideration before deciding on the pardon, according to a report carried by the Oman News Agency (ONA).
