Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) have handed over a Pakistan national, identified only with his initials M.U., to authorities in the UAE for his alleged involvement in a fraud.

According to an ROP press release, the accused had fled the UAE after stealing Dh248,000 from his employers. He was entrusted to transfer the funds abroad.

The accused was caught when he was trying to illegally enter Oman through the border at Buraimi.

In another case, the ROP have extradited a Turkish national (A.J.) to Ankara as he was accused of fraud in Turkey. He had fled and come to Oman.
