Muscat: Muscat Municipality has installed brand-new gym equipment for complimentary use for the general public at Muttrah waterfront area as well as in Qurum beach.
This is in addition to the various other spots in Qurum and Al Khuwair where similar public gym facilities have been set up with a range of equipment and machines for a multitude of physical activities.
Many fitness enthusiasts utilize these facilities provided by Muscat Municipality as these are also located close to beaches or park areas which are oft-visited places for walks and runs.
Sanitizer spray
Tariq Mohammed Al Balushi, a student of College of Banking and Financial Services, says that he prefers the open gym than the closed indoor ones. “Ever since the cross-training machine and cycles were installed in Shati Qurum Beach Park, I have been using them regularly. I also take my sister and mother who also love to use the gym while watching the endless sea. We do use the sanitizer spray on handles and seats before we use them.”
Fakhrudin Tez who runs a coffee shop in Muttrah says that he used to jog along the corniche before opening his coffee shop at 6 am in the morning.
“With the new addition of a gym near our house for complimentary use, I will ensure my wife also uses it. She stays away from gym quoting the expenses of membership fee but now that need not be a worry anymore.”
