Muscat: A few more activities have been exempted from the current partial curfew in Oman from 8pm till 5am.
Per the decision by the Supreme Committee home delivery service of food stuff and shops selling and repairing tyres located in petrol stations have been excluded from list of commercial activities in all governorates of the Sultanate. The partial curfew as of now will be effective till March 20, unless until it is extended further.
The activities excluded from the curfew are gas stations, health institutions, private pharmacies, home delivery service, and tyre sales and repair shops located in gas stations.
The home delivery service in this context refers to food delivery from restaurants clarified the concerned authorities.
Parks closed
The food delivery time is now extended till 9:30pm and is applicable for app-based delivery network like Akeed and Talabat, the two most popular services in this context in Oman. The partial curfew is applicable for commercial establishments like supermarkets, malls, food courts, coffee shops and such and doesn’t stop people from venturing out, as long as there are no gatherings and group meetings.
While beaches and parks still remain closed, people can use the walkways and jogging areas for their routine walks, with mask-wearing encouraged.
The commercial ventures have also rescheduled their timing temporarily to have a no-break straight shift from 7am till 7:30pm with some outlets even opening earlier.
