The Royal Oman Police (ROP) announced ending the control checkpoints starting at 6 in the morning on Wednesday, except for those operating on roads linked to the province of Muscat, the agency added.
ROP also said that the provinces of Muscat and Muttrah as well as the commercial market area in the province of Jalan Bani Bu Ali will remain under health isolation until further notice.
On Tuesday, Oman allowed a series of businesses to resume their activities, loosening restrictions imposed to stop the spread of COVID-19.
Those businesses include shops selling electronic and electric appliances, auto parts, car and boat repair workshops, car rental offices as well as foreign exchange firms.
