Oman declares Al Isra’a Wal Miraj holiday

Muscat: Oman has declared Thursday as a holiday for the public and private sectors to mark Al Isra Wal Miraj.

Sayyid Khalid Bin Hilal Bin Saud Al Bu Saeedi, Minister of Diwan of Royal Court and Chairman of the Board of Civil Services, issued a ministerial decision to announce a holiday on Thursday for all employees of the ministries as well as the other public sector entities.

Shaikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Al Bakri, Minister of Manpower, also declared a holiday for the private sector on Thursday. The ministerial decision states that owners of private organisation must compensate workers if they are called for work on the holiday on Thursday.
