Muscat: Shopping malls across the capital saw capacity crowds with people busy with their Eid shopping. Today and tomorrow will be the last two days the malls across Oman will be open till 7pm. From July 16, a lockdown will be enforced from 5pm until 4am. All commercial activities as well as vehicular and people movement will be banned during the lockdown period, which will be in force until the end of this month.

Basement parking at Avenues Mall in Azaiba was full at 11am. The ATM machines at most of the places had long queues. Other popular malls in the capital, like Muscat City Centre, Qurum City Centre, Muscat Grand Mall and various hypermarkets were abuzz with shoppers.

One of the shoppers in Muscat City Centre, who has been visiting the mall for two days, said she will have to come again for the next two days to finish the shopping list for Eid giveaways.

Meanwhile, Muscat Municipality has announced the working hours of Central vegetables and Fruits market in Seeb, which is a huge and popular market. It will open at five in the morning until three in the afternoon from Saturday, July 17, until Thursday, July 29. The market will be closed during the first three days of Eid Al Adha, as well as on Fridays.
