Muscat: Five Omanis were arrested for beating up another national, threatening him at knifepoint and resisting arrest in Buraimi province.
The victim was beaten up by the five Omanis over a dispute about women. The victim reported the case to the Buraimi police station. When police rushed to the spot, the five suspects refused to hand themselves in and resisted arrest. Later, the police raided the house and arrested all of them.
It turned out that the five accused were under the influence of alcohol, according to an Oman police statement.
Three African women and the victim were also arrested. The victim was the one who brought women to other five Omanis.
The case has been forwarded to the Public Prosecution for further investigation and trial.
