Dubai: Another 207 people have tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Oman, taking the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 81,787, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported on Monday.

The latest cases include 167 Omanis and 40 non-Omanis.

According to Sultanate’s Ministry of Health, eight patients have succumbed to the deadly virus, pushing the death toll to 521.

Meanwhile, 1,433 COVID-19 patients have made full recovery, bringing the total to 76, 124.

MOH pointed out that 53 cases were hospitalised over the past 24 hours, adding that the total number of current hospitalised COVID-19 infected patients stands at 482, of which 172 are in intensive care

The ministry urged everyone to adhere to social distancing instructions issued by the Supreme Committee and the MOH, as well as staying at home and not going out unless necessary.
